Committee

The Rwanda National Ethics Committee was created (RNEC) in May 2002 by the Ministry of Health of Rwanda.
Since the 30th October 2008 that RNEC was officialy confirmed by the Ministerial Instruction N° 20/37. It was composed of 7 members.
On 26th February 2009 another Ministerial Instruction N° 20/39 amended and completed the previous one by modifying the composition of the committee bringing the membership at ten (10) members.

The mission of the committee is to review all the research projects on human beings before they are conducted on Rwandan territory.

Our vision ensure that all research projects conducted in Rwanda meet nationally and internationally accepted research ethical standards.
