The Rwanda National Ethics Committee (RNEC) was established by the Ministerial instructions no 20/37 of 3rd October 2008 on creation of National Ethics Committee (RNEC) on the research on human beings and have its mission, role and responsibilities and functioning. It is recognized by the federalwide assurance (FWA) for the protection of human subjects (FWA Assurance No. 00001973)
all research proposals shall be submitted with the following information to NEC at least 15 (fifteen) working days before the scheduled meeting date.
*Copy of the request letter.
*Copy of the protocol and summary.
The mission of the committee is to examine all the research projects on human body that are to be carried out in any part of Rwanda and all modifications to be affected whatever the nationality of the promoters, and to approve these projects in the first degree.
